We are getting closer to the completion of the Chandler Highway upgrade, one of the main entry points to YarraBend. More than 9800 tonnes of asphalt, 8000 cubic metres of crushed rock and 290,000 hours of work has gone into this upgrade! New lanes and traffic lights will soon be in action, as well as a pedestrian bridge, improving road safety for all.
The $110 million upgrade is widening Chandler Highway to build a second bridge next to the existing one and converting the original bridge into a walking and cycling path. The project is due to be completed in mid-2019 and will improve reliability for the 44,000 cars using this road every day.
